Hello, I am Zana …
Welcome to Bee Creative Studios, I am so glad you are here.
Hi, I’m Zana, the heart behind Bee Creative Studios, a place where children are encouraged to explore, imagine, and create.
Growing up in a small country town in New Zealand, in a lively household with 12 siblings, creativity was a part of everyday life. With limited resources but endless imagination, we were always finding fun ways to make something from scratch. That sense of joy and hands-on creativity has never left me.
I’ve always had a passion for hands-on DIY projects. There’s something incredibly rewarding about imagining an idea and bringing it to life. I love working with sustainable and recycled materials, not just for their environmental benefits, but because they invite resourcefulness, imagination, and a sense of purpose.
Every project is an opportunity to create something meaningful, with care and intention, and to add a little of my own personality along the way. I’ve always considered art to be a meaningful way to connect with others and express myself, and as a mum of three, it has always been a favourite activity of ours. It’s not just about painting or crafting, it’s about slowing down, sharing moments, and building confidence through creativity.
I’m currently completing my Bachelor of Education and plan to continue into a master’s in counselling. Working with children is truly where my heart lies. I believe every child deserves the space and freedom to explore their ideas in a supportive, inspiring environment, especially when traditional classrooms don’t always allow for that kind of creative expression. That’s why I created Bee Creative Studios to offer a creative space where kids can feel free to experiment, express themselves, and most importantly, have fun.
We live in a time where screens are a big part of daily life, and while they have their place, it can mean that children’s imaginations and creativity often take a back seat.
In my own small way, I suppose this is my gentle stand, a way to protect and nurture the wild, wonderful imaginations that make childhood so special.
I wanted to create a space where kids can simply be kids in a modern, yet refreshingly old-school way. A place where they can feel with their hands, create with their eyes, and express the spirit of creation with their hearts.
Art goes beyond being an enjoyable activity; it supports children’s development in meaningful ways. It helps build fine motor skills, encourages creative thinking, and gives kids a healthy way to express their thoughts and emotions. Most of all, it boosts confidence and lets them take pride in their ideas.
Bee Creative Studios ... Testimonials ...
My two girls loved their time in Zana’s Art workshops. They had big smiles on their faces and couldn’t wait to show me their work when they left. The workshop catered for both their ages easily. Zana is lovely and I was comfortable to leave my girls for the duration of the workshop. I would def take my kids again.
Both of my children have attended art programs with Zana and absolutely loved it. They came away with some reallu unique pieces and are asking when they can go back
We live down in Byron Bay and came across Zana’s art classes online. Now that we have found her art classes, we will travel to do her classes in the holidays. She is one of the nicest people I have met. Kind, gentle, and so creative, my girls just love being in her class.
The girls had an awesome afternoon. They chatted the whole way home about how much fun it was creating their own art work in Zana’s Art studio. So cute. Thanks again!
My daughter had the best time at Zana’s art class. She came home with new art for her room and new skills that she was so excited to try again. Zana is kind and patient with the kids – I would highly recommend her.
